The second phase of my project documenting the recovery of groundfish stocks in our west-coast waters was spent observing the harvest of Petrale & Dover Sole as well as Ling Cod & Skate from deeper canyons off the coast of Oregon & Washington.

I spent an amazing day off the coast of northern Oregon documenting the abundance of rockfish in our coastal waters. While the species had been overfished thirty years ago, their numbers have rebounded to sustainable levels allowing for trawling to resume.
